World Book Day

3rd & 4th Class made a huge effort on World Book Day to come into school dressed as a favourite character from a book.  Her a just a few of the imaginative costumes.  Can you work out who they are?

Recommended Read

In 3rd & 4th Class we love reading and talking about our books.  This is what our last half hour on Friday looks like.  An avid reader in the comfiest chair in the room talking about a book they've recently read.  The review always ends with the phrase they all love to say .... "you've got to read the book to find out what happens next".  This is always met with a big groan from the audience.

Spring Garden Visit

Many many thanks to Bill Curtin, Finlay's Grandfather, for very kindly inviting 3rd and 4th class to visit his amazing garden.  There were beautiful hyacinths, mascari and daffodils on display and the children learned many many interesting facts about the trees, flowers and wildlife in the garden.  Unusually, both a red squirrel and a grey squirrel live in the same tree!  The class hope to return in summer to see how the garden has changed.

3rd Class Victorious in Walsh Park

See the happy faces of the wonderful hurlers from 3rd class as they celebrated a hatrick of victories in an interschools blitz in Walsh Park.  Amazing teamwork, they are a true example to the rest of the school

How animals survive in their habitats

3rd & 4th class have researched some wonderful projects.  They had to create a habitat in a shoe box, then explain how their chosen animal has adapted to protect itself from predators and to find food.  The standard was extremely high.  Here are a few of them.
